是的。堺市的傳統工匠名冊將田中義一列為國家級傳統工藝士，於1996年度在鍛造（鍛冶）部門獲得認證。他同時持有另一項堺市製造大師（Monozukuri Meister）認證，於2009年度在刀具鍛造領域獲頒此殊榮。
