Masakage is a brand, not a single maker. It was founded in 2007 and is owned by sharpener Takayuki Shibata; the blades are forged by Takefu Knife Village smiths such as Yu Kurosaki and Yoshimi Kato, and finished to the sharpening standard Shibata built.
